Temporary Business Support Officer role with a State Government Department – great hourly rate and immediate start.

A State Government Department is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. This role plays an important part in supporting day-to-day operations through the delivery of high-quality administrative services and customer support.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing efficient, high-quality customer service to customers and stakeholders
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation, reports, and system records
  • Updating and managing information systems, including Ellipse and Microsoft Office
  • Handling enquiries and escalating matters to senior staff when required
  • Demonstrating initiative in managing tasks and supporting team operations
  • Developing and maintaining procedures, manuals, and registers
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of processes and documentation
  • Undertaking general administrative duties as required
  • Supporting a positive team culture and contributing to recurring work activities

About You

You are a dependable and organised administration professional who enjoys working in a structured environment and delivering accurate, high-quality work.

You will bring:

  • Previous administration experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Flexible attitude and ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 36.25 hours per week
  • Experience using Ellipse (preferred but not essential)
  • Current open Driver’s Licence (essential)
